The sixth Dover Jobs Fair was another resounding success. I’m already looking forward to number seven, which takes place on 29 March 2019.

The Jobs Fair gets employers and jobseekers together in the same room, so they can talk through opportunities face-to-face.

Last year we had more than 600 jobseekers come along to Dover Town Hall. They met with firms like P&O Ferries, DFDS, the Port of Dover, Coombe Valley Transport, Gomez, Kennedy Scott and Tilmanstone Salads, who alone were seeking 200 new employees.

Dover is full of hard-working, talented people. Many want a foot on the ladder, or a new challenge, or to discover ways to help others and make the most of their skills. I'm passionate about getting people jobs which are right for them.



Back in 2010 I pledged to do everything I could to bring more prospects to the area. And over the past seven years we've been working tirelessly to bring more jobs and money to Dover and Deal. Unemployment has nearly halved. More than 4,000 apprenticeships have been created. The latest pay survey showed wages went up 10 per cent in a year.

Just like all the others, the Seventh Dover Jobs Fair will have lots of companies represented at Dover Town Hall, as well as apprenticeships schemes and other training options.
